Provider Approval is the official authorisation granted by your state or territory Regulatory Authority under the National Law. It confirms that you have the knowledge, capacity, and commitment to operate a childcare service in Australia. Without Approved Provider status, you cannot legally operate a childcare service.

The Regulatory Authority must make a decision within 60 calendar days of receiving a complete and valid application. This timeframe does not begin until all required documents have been submitted. Missing documents will delay the process, so we recommend preparing everything before you apply.

The Provider Knowledge Assessment is a mandatory open-book assessment required as part of the Provider Approval process. It tests your understanding of the National Law, National Regulations, and your obligations as an Approved Provider. Preparation is essential — our courses are designed specifically to help you pass with confidence.

No formal childcare qualification is required to apply for Provider Approval. However, you must demonstrate that you are a fit and proper person and that you have a sound understanding of your responsibilities under the National Quality Framework. Our courses will help you build that knowledge.
